1)    The International Federation of Iranian Refugees (IFIR)turkey branch are submitting this letter in support of these applications for refugee status.  IFIR turkey branch urges the UNHCR to issue a positive and expedited decision based on internationally recognised refugee standards.

2)    IFIR is an international, non-governmental organisation, which advocates promoting and protecting the rights of Iranian refugees and asylum seekers.  As a record of our professional competence and credibility, various governmental, non-governmental, and inter-governmental agencies have contacted IFIR for information on country conditions as well as on individual cases.

3)    Based on information gathered by IFIR first-hand and from well-known international human rights organisations, the Iranian government continues to be a major abuser of civil rights with no evidence of improvement.  Systematic abuses include extra-judicial killings and summary executions; widespread use of torture and other degrading treatment; arrest and detention; lack of fair trials; and harsh prison conditions.

4)    Moreover, these persons are  IFIR activists & members among refugees.  As a result, they will also face persecution based on their activities outside of Iran against the Islamic regime of Iran.

5)    IFIR turkey branch urges the UNHCR to grant these refugee recognition based on their well-founded fear of persecution on the grounds of their activities.

Yours sincerely
