The Showcase of International Working Class toward Building a Better World

Against the US Militarism, Against Islamic Terrorism

May Day is the day of international solidarity and unity of the working class. It is the showcase of workers’ power to make a better world. On May Day workers should emphasize the unconditional freedom and equality of the people in their marches and meetings. Workers should demand the termination of waged slavery. They should underline that everybody has the right to benefit from the wealth and the facilities of the society. The slogans that workers chant, their demands, and solidarity in May Day form the image of the future that working class pictures for humanity.

The false gap and enmity among humans that are based on religion, race, and ethnicity is a weapon of capitalism to continue the unjust existing order. On the contrary, workers have no way other than dismissing national, racial, ethnic, and religious fences and strengthening their international solidarity and unity toward building a better world.

The world is full of wealth. However, the share of workers all around the world is insecurity and poverty. The creative power of labor force has reached miraculous levels, but the working person finds oneself within inhumane and unequal conditions more than ever. The human society has never had means and possibilities to supply common wealth in such an extent as it does today. On the other hand, never before large human masses, not only in Asia and Africa but also in North America and in Europe, have been deprived from these facilities as they are today. Humanity is imprisoned by discrimination, insecurity, homelessness, and starvation. Despite the great wealth the nightmare of insecure, indefinite, and dark future overshadows lives of workers.

The confrontation between the two reactionary poles of contemporary world, state militarism that is lead by the US government and Islamic terrorism, has darkened the world even more for humanity. The threat of another war has cast a shadow on the future. A central demand of this May Day should be calling upon workers and libertarian people to oppose the threat of war and these two terrorist poles. The struggle and the fight between these poles have nothing to do with the benefit of the people. With every war that they declare and with every crime that they commit they sacrifice the lives of innocent people. Today, after Afghanistan and Iraq the threat of military attack by the US and its allies on Iran has pushed the world to the edge of another catastrophe. The war of terrorists not only aims the lives of people in Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran, but also makes the whole world a more insecure place. The atmosphere of war should be pushed away by active intervention of workers and libertarian people. The bullying policies of the US and its allies should be resisted with full force; the crimes of the opposing pole, that is Islamic terrorism, should be stopped. The struggle of people to emancipate from terrorist Islamic governments and movements in Islam-ridden countries should be supported.

The struggle of people in Iran for freedom and emancipation has an important and determining role. There has been a massive movement against the Islamic regime and to achieve freedom and equality in Iran for many years. The success of this movement will be an effective strike to political Islam and Islamic terrorism on a global scale; it will also be an influential and determining response to the US’s political-military interventions for regime change and the so-called “exporting democracy” and imposing puppet reactionary regimes on other countries. The victory of the people in Iran will be a huge step forward and a turning point in confronting US militarism and Islamic terrorism and in defense of freedom, civilization and universal human rights all around the world. We call upon all workers and the people of the world to actively support the struggle of the people in Iran against the Islamic regime and to achieve freedom and equality.
