Formation of the

"Committee for struggle to free political prisoners in Iran" (CSFPPI)

The Islamic regime of Iran seized power following a people’s revolution in 1979 and established its tyranny by mass imprisonment, torture and executions right from the beginning and continued doing so to the present day. The Islamic regime’s record of human rights violation speaks volume and it is known worldwide. Discord is forbidden under the Islamic establishment, political dissent would neither be allowed nor tolerated and the dissidents would face the ultimate punishment: imprisonment, torture and execution. Thousands of innocent people have been executed solely for their beliefs and associations with political parties. In the Islamic regime distribution of a political pamphlet can get the distributor a lengthy prison time, torture and even execution.

Despite all the brutal suppression of dissidents, the number of demonstrations against the regime has been growing enormously and by doing so people are risking their lives participating in demonstrations. Defiant workers, women, youth and students broaden their protests against the Islamic regime and the imposed inhumane living conditions on them. Imprisonment is the regime’s only defense. Facing the unprecedented and continuous threat to its existence, the Islamic regime could only prolong its might thus far solely by brutal suppression, torture and imprisonment of the political dissidents. Thousands of the political activists have spent part or most of their lives in prison bearing torture.

Political prisoners need support, their voices needs to be heard loud and clear worldwide, their inhumane conditions imposed by the Islamic regime must be exposed and they all have to be freed immediately and unconditionally. This acts as one of the main front and a cornerstone in struggle of people against the vicious Islamic regime. The “Committee for struggle to free political prisoners in Iran” aims to work for and organize a vast campaign for unconditional freedom of all political prisoners in Iran regardless of their belief and opinion.

The “CSFPPI” course of action(s):
