To the people of the world

Support the struggle of the people of Iran by calling for:

“An immediate end to military threats against Iran and for the expulsion of the Islamic Republic from the international community”

On the two sides of what is called the Iranian nuclear crisis, stand the governments of the West and the Islamic Republic of Iran. None of these sides represents the wishes and interests of the people.

The governments of the West and members of the UN Security Council have the world’s biggest stockpiles of nuclear weapons. The US government, in particular, is the first power to have built the atomic bomb and the only state to have used it against hundreds of thousands of innocent people. It has even developed its use as a tactical weapon. None of these states is a competent judge to rule on whether other states should or should not acquire nuclear weapons. Only those are entitled to stand against the attempts of the Islamic regime of Iran or any other state to acquire nuclear weapons which stand for a universal nuclear disarmament. The fight against nuclear weapons must target all nuclear powers, including the United States and members of the UN Security Council.

On the other side of this conflict stands the Islamic Republic of Iran, i.e. one of the most savage and inhuman theocratic dictatorships the world has ever seen. The crimes of this regime in its 27 years of existence include executions, stoning to death, flogging, throwing dissidents to jail, torture, stripping people of their rights, violence and discrimination against women and slaughtering tens of thousands of political prisoners.

These two sides now stand against each other. But the main reason for the opposition of the governments of the West towards the Islamic Republic has never been the atrocities of this regime against the people of Iran. The West’s main problem with the Iranian regime is the nuisance that Political Islam, and specifically the Islamic regime of Iran, is causing for the USA’s foreign policy in the Middle East and around the world. Within this framework there is no solution to the problem of the Islamic Republic, the nuclear crisis or Islamic terrorism. On the contrary, the West’s militaristic policies create a breeding ground for Islamic terrorism, and strengthen it politically and socially. The catastrophic consequences of this policy are there for all to see in Iraq. While claiming victims in the most brutal way from among the people, the state terrorism of the West and Islamic terrorism feed off each other. They provide a reason for each other’s existence. Each justifies its brutal actions by the other’s brutality.

Civilised humanity has its own solution against these two poles of savagery. The basis of this solution is a ceaseless struggle against the militaristic and reactionary policies of the United States and its European Allies, at the same time as fighting against political Islam and for secularism in countries plagued by Islam. An essential part of this solution is challenging post-modernist views which in the guise of respecting “other people’s cultures” turn a blind eye to the atrocities of the Islamists and Iran’s Islamic regime.

As far as it concerns the issue of the Islamic Republic acquiring nuclear weapons, the solution to it lies in the hands of the people of Iran. The people of Iran despise that regime, have been fighting it for years and stand for its overthrow. The overthrow of the Islamic Republic will not only save the 70 million people of Iran from the Islamic nightmare that has been strangling them for 27 years, but will also deal a mortal blow to Islamic terrorism and put an end to the threat of the Islamic Republic becoming a nuclear power. There is no other solution. The alternatives by the Western governments, i.e. military attack against Iran or economic sanctions, are not solutions; they are part of the problem. Just like a military attack, economic sanctions will, on the one hand, hurt the people of Iran, turning their lives into something similar to what the people of Iraq are going through, and, on the other hand, give a new excuse to the regime in Iran to play victim and justify the poverty and repression that the overwhelming majority of the people in Iran are subjected to.

People of Iran want an immediate end to the military threats of the USA and the governments of the West against Iran, while being engaged in a relentless struggle for the overthrow of the regime. The Islamic regime of Iran is hated by the people and does not represent any section of them. The Iranian people demand that this government should not be recognised by the world’s states and international organisations.

They specifically call for the expulsion of the Islamic Republic from international organisations, an end to diplomatic ties with it and the closing down of Iranian embassies around the world. Their message is: instead of military attack and economic sanctions, throw the Islamic Republic of Iran out of the international community!

We call on the progressive people of the world, human rights organisations, parties and individuals and all those who want to see the world free of the nightmare of nuclear weapons, Islamic terrorism and the United States’ state terrorism to support the people of Iran by calling for “an immediate end to military threats against Iran and for the expulsion of the Islamic Republic from the international community”.
