<= span lang=3DEN-US style=3D'font-family:Arial'>Mansour Osanloo, the president of = the newly formed, Independent Bus Drivers Union in Tehran, Iran, was arrested a= nd jailed on December 22nd, 2005 for no reason other than representing his members. His life is in danger.

<= span lang=3DEN-US style=3D'font-family:Arial'>This is to request your solidarity= and support for Mansour Osanloo.

<= span lang=3DEN-US style=3D'font-family:Arial'>Over 17,000 Bus drivers and service personnel of the public transit system in Tehran (Sherkate Vahed), managed = to form their union through a bloody battle with the repressive and anti labou= r, Islamic regime of Iran. Manour Osanloo was attacked in the founding meeting= of the union by the Islamic gangs and nearly lost his life. =

<= span lang=3DEN-US style=3D'font-family:Arial'>He was badly wounded and hospitali= zed. The attackers were aiming to cut his tongue. He was knifed in the neck and his = eye was injured.

<= span lang=3DEN-US style=3D'font-family:Arial'>On December 22nd, a few weeks afte= r the formation of the union, the same judge who is known as the killer of Zahra Kazemi (the Canadian photo journalist), sent his agents to arrest 12 execut= ive members of the union, including the union president. 3 days later, the bus = drivers stopped work on a one-day strike for the freedom of their president, execut= ive members and their demands including wage increase, recognition of their uni= on, collective agreement and resignation of the president of the company. =

<= span lang=3DEN-US style=3D'font-family:Arial'>Bus drivers had the support of the= ir families and general public in Tehran. The government released all executive members but  Mansour Osanloo w= ho is still in jail.

<= span lang=3DEN-US style=3D'font-family:Arial'>Forming a union and representing u= nion members are among the basic rights of workers! The Iranian government is violating workers rights.

Your call for the release of the union president and your solidarity message to the struggling workers would make them stronger in their effort for achieving these rights= .
