"ائتلاف عليه ميليتاريسم" نيز به كمپين نجات فرزاد كمانگر پيوست به دنبال تماس فعالين حزب كمونيست كارگري ايران ائتلاف عليه ميليتاريسم سازمانى مركب از صدها معلم و مربی و عضو اتحاديه معلمين لس آنجلس به كمپين جهانى براى نجات جان فرزاد كمانگر پيوست. اين سازمان نامه اى خطاب به محمود شاهرودى رئيس قوه قضائيه جمهورى اسلامى نوشته و ضمن اظهار نگرانى عميق از صدور حكم اعدام براى فرزاد كمانگر خواهان لغو فور حكم اعدام فرزاد كمانگر شده است. خانم آرلنه اينوى هماهنگ كننده اين ائتلاف در نامه خود خطاب به شاهرودى اعلام كرده است: " ائتلاف عليه ميليتاريسم يك سازمان خدماتي غير دولتي مركب از صدها معلم و مربی است. ما عضو اتحاديه معلمين لس آنجلس و انجمن ملى آموزش، و به اتفاق سازمانهاي فوق، عضو فدراسيون جهانى آموزش ميباشيم۔ ٣٠ ميليون معلم و كارگران آموزش عضو اين اتحاديه ميباشند. ما عميقا نگران وضعيت فرزاد كمانگر معلم ايرانى كه در تاريخ ٢٥ فوريه ٢٠٠٨ به دليل "به خطر انداختن امنيت ملى" به اعدام محكوم شده است، ميباشيم." مسئولين اين سازمان طي تماسى كه با حزب كمونيست كارگري گرفته اند، اعلام داشته اند كه قويا از كمپين نجات فرزاد كمانگر حمايت كرده و تلاش ميكنند در روز جهانى معلم توجه افكار عمومي را به مسئله فرزاد كمانگر جلب كنند. خاطر نشان کنیم که مینا احدی سخنگوی كميته بين المللی عليه اعدام و شهلا دانشفر مسئول کميته مبارزه براي آزادي زندانيان سياسي طی نامه ای به فدراسيون آموزش بين الملل، سازمانهای كارگری و نهادهای مخالف اعدام از آنها خواسته اند که روز ۵ اکتبر روز جهانی معلم را به روز جهانی اعتراض به حكم اعدام فرزاد كمانگر تبدیل کنند۔ ما از این ابتکار قویا حمایت می کنیم و امیدوارم با تلاش همه انسانهای شریف و آزادیخواه روز ۵ اکتبر به روز بزرگی در مبارزه برای نجات جان فرزاد کمانگر تبدیل شود۔

August 2008 Your Excellency, The Coalition Against Militarism (CAMS) is a nonprofit service organization comprised of hundreds of teachers, educators, and community members. We are members of the United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) and National Education Association (NEA), which are members of the Education International (EI) which represents 30 million teachers and educator workers. We are gravely concerned about the situation of Mr. Farzad Kamangar, an Iranian teacher who was sentenced to death on February 25, 2008 by the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of “endangering national security.” Farzad Kamangar, a teacher who worked in Kamyaran, was a member of the Kurdish Teachers Trade Association and was in charge of public relations for the teacher union until it was outlawed. Farzad Kamangar was also active in defending human rights, minority rights and women's rights. According to his lawyer, the judicial process did not meet the Iranian legal requirements and there is no evidence against him of the charges of “enmity against God”. Reliable information indicate that he has been tortured regularly. Currently, he is detained with dangerous criminals and he fears for his security, as well as for his health given the high prevalence of HIV and hepatitis B in the prison. He has suffered brutal beatings, lashings, and imprisoned in horrific conditions while family members have been also arrested. In a letter that he wrote Nov. 23, 2006 from the Rajai Shahr Prison, “They hated me very much because of my Kurdish Ethnicity, my Journalism and human rights work. They also would not stop torturing me.” CAMS supports the campaigns of the Iranian Teachers’ Association and of Amnesty International to re-examine the case of Farzad Kamangar through a fair trial that meets the Iranian and international standards. CAMS also urges the authorities to commute Farzad Kamangar’s death sentence immediately, as the application of death penalty is irreparable and no judicial system should run the risk of condemning an innocent person. We urge the Islamic Republic of Iran to engage in the dialogue and actions necessary for justice to be carried out for Farzad Kamangar. Thank you.
